The company
We are an Austrian private company specializing in the separation, processing and recycling of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap.
We strive for innovation.
We want to lead the technological development in processing. To this end we develop internationally pioneering solutions with utmost commitment and innovative spirit. We are experts in waste management, industrial dismantling and container assembly. For decades Austrian and European steel and metalworking companies have been relying on our customer orientation and fairness.
We believe in sustainability.
Steel and iron processing means to handle valuable raw materials, grant sustainability and to actively protect the environment. We recycle like nature – we transform, re-use and make sure that no material is lost. This leads to special awareness which benefits our relations with customers and staff members and directs our use of resources.
In Ybbs, St. Barbara and Vienna a total number of 120 staff members work on the development of environmentally and economically sound recycling solutions – supported by ultramodern plants, processes and logistics. Our customers are companies, steelworks and foundries as well as private customers who appreciate a well-assorted metal retail market.
Our recycling solutions set new standards, based on our values and principles.
Day after day, these values guide us and define our role in the European recycling economy: trust and fairness towards our customers, trust and respect towards our employees, transparency and responsibility when processing materials.
To make the circle complete, openness to change, integrity and transparency strengthen our corporate identity and reinforce our staff members’ commitment – all for the benefit of our customers and suppliers.
Excellent partnerships are built on mutual trust and reliability. Our business partners know our concept of quality and trust in our commitment to the highest possible standards regarding environment, occupational safety and health. Our machines and technical equipment are up to the latest state-of-the-art technology. Compliance with all environmental laws, decrees and regulatory requirements is a matter of course.
The above values, customer-orientation and permanent openness to change are our investments. The highest possible quality and long-term partnerships with customers and suppliers are our gains.
The headquarter of Schaufler GmbH in Ybbs/Danube is located in the centre of Lower Austria. As junction of water, railway, and road, this site is highly appropriate for processing and handling goods.

In 2022, the former operating areas of the VKW company in Itter were successfully integrated into Schaufler GmbH. Our main focus is the acquisition and collection of various recyclable materials from the region. At the Itter location, we handle iron scrap as well as a wide range of metal scraps such as copper, aluminium, stainless steel, zinc and cables.
We are proud to offer our recyclable material suppliers transparent evaluations that guarantee them the best purchase prices. Additionally, we ensure that our metal foundry customers receive the highest quality materials.
Apart from its central role in recycling in the state of Tyrol, the Itter branch also plays a crucial part in the transport logistics of Schaufler GmbH. The location serves as a significant hub, ensuring smooth operations and sustainable transportation.
This expansion of our facilities is an essential basis for strengthening the material cycle and actively shaping an environmentally friendly future. We are committed to continuing to make a positive contribution to the conservation of our resources and the promotion of the circular economy.
